Bubblegum Lip Scrub

As soon as you remove the lid from the Bubblegum lip scrub, the sweet, candy-scented aroma hits you. For fans of the Snow Fairy scent (and I'm guessing that a good percentage of you), you will love the smell and taste of this product.

My lips don't really get dry or chapped. I drink a lot of water and I use lip balms frequently. However, when I started working in retail, I didn't have time to drink much or apply my lip balm so my lips quickly became dry, and soon after that, they started to chap. It's since then that I started using this product.

At first, I thought that it was an odd idea that you could lick the scrub off your lips, but once I had done it, I thought it was a fantastic idea. For those of you who are a bit weary about eating a lip scrub, it actually tastes good. Yes, a line of products from Lush that are edible!! Just please don't eat the tub all in one go! That can't be safe!

Bubblegum lip scrub has been made by only six ingredients which is amazing. The caster sugar is the exfoliator in this product; it scrubs off all of the dead skin on your lips and the organic jojoba oil is the moisturiser in the scrub.

Oops... This is what happens when I tried to apply the scrub, some of this then fell on the floor which meant it broke off everywhere and grains of the scrub were everywhere

I actually found it slightly difficult to get some of the scrub out of the tub. I used my index finger to try and scoop out a tiny amount and it went everywhere... over the surface of my table and on the floor. I didn't spill a lot but because the consistency is like slightly wet sugar, when you spill a little bit, the grains go everywhere. So that was a massive pain to clean up.

Once you've actually got some on your finger, Bubblegum lip scrub is easy to apply onto your lips. it's surprisingly quite a hard scrub, like that of The Rough With The Smooth body scrub. If you don't like hard scrubs, then just be careful how you're applying it.

Lush claims that this can leave your lips feeling moisturised from the jojoba oil but I didn't get this experience, sure it rubbed away all of the dead skin which is fantasic and my lips did feel very smooth, but they felt smooth and dry. I applied some lip balm and then everything was fine but I was a bit disappointed that what Lush said would happen, didn't.

Roughly, this is the amount that you need to get a good scrub

Overall, lip scrubs are a brilliant idea from Lush; they exfoliate brilliantly, they smell amazing and they're edible - which is what every Lushie could wish for. The price for Bubblegum lip scrub may look a but steep for what it is, but a little bit goes a long way and - depending on how much you use at once - one tub can last for up to a year.

Even though this can get a bit messy and it doesn't moisturise my lips, I'll be buying this again due to how amazing it smells and how well it gets rid of any dead skin.

Description on Lush:
Prep your lips with a buff and polish at the start of your make-up routine to ensure your lipstick glides on and stays put. Just apply with a clean finger, and let the exfoliating caster sugar and softening jojoba oil scrub away dead skin and infuse moisture to rejuvenate your smile. Bubblegum lip scrub won't leave any greasy residue; just a sweet candy taste that you'll enjoy licking off. Lip-smackingly good.
