As soon as I put this in my bath, Dragon's Egg started to foam - due to the cream of tartar - and it nearly covered the top of the water.; there was no colour at first, nothing exciting but I knew that the show was about to start. The cream of tartar is the ingredient that makes your skin feel silky smooth whilst you're in the bath and for about half an hour after exiting the bath.
Slowly, the coloured rice paper (aptly used for the 'dragon scales') began littering the water - blue, red and yellow popping out everywhere. I also heard some light popping and I realised that there was some popping candy that was also being released as the bath bomb fizzed. The popping candy didn't do anything for the bath itself, but Lush state that it's to give off the idea of dragon fire and the flame crackling.
When Dragon's Egg fizzes a bit more, a golden centre is revealed and the bath bomb spins round the bath to create magical, glittery swirls of orange. This product is very much like Frozen in the sense that it takes around 15 minutes to dissolve fully. This means that for 15 glorious minutes, this wonder captures your attention and leaves your mouth agape.
Another thing that captures your attention is the tons of glitter that swirls around in your bath. When the foam settles and the bath bomb has finally stopped fizzing, the glitter mixed in with the burnt orange colour - maybe a couple of shades darker than that of the Yuzu & Cocoa bubbleroon.
Even though the centre of Dragon's Egg is beautiful, I wouldn't say that it is as gorgeous as Frozen, Twilight or YogaBomb and didn't smell as gorgeous as Twilight or Fluffy Egg.
Dragon's Egg includes ingredients like lemon oil, bergamot oil and jasmine absolute. Considering that two of those ingredients are citrus smells, I could hardly smell the bergamot and lemon oil; the jasmine absolute was stronger along with the gardenia extract. The floral and citrusy smell together however created a very odd scent for me. It would have been nice for it to be a stronger citrusy smell - and no, not because citrus is my favourite scent - but because that's what Lush deems to be the stronger scent.
So maybe mine was just a one-off? I don't know. I will have to see when I use it again.
After exiting the bath, I was glad to notice that the glitter from the bath bomb hadn't stuck to my skin but after the water had drained, the glitter from the bath had stuck to the bathtub. It wasn't a pain to wash away.
Overall, this bath bomb is brilliant because it's a slow fizzer, it releases gorgeous, golden swirls and the beautiful golden shimmer makes it look like magical, dragons breath. Even the smell wasn't exactly my cup of tea, I will definitely be buying this bath bomb over and over again.
